The four-wheel-drive Pro-4X has a fuel economy rating of 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway. In addition, the PRO-4X has upgraded suspension to handle rugged terrain and an electronic locking rear differential.

Nissan has included several upgrades to both the interior and exterior for 2022. The suspension has been upgraded on all models, and the interior has been significantly improved. The redesigned interior features modern trim pieces and soft-touch surfaces and a new 7-inch color driver information display. Improved technology options and driver assistance features are available on the 2022 model.
Nissan has included a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment center, with an optional 9-inch touchscreen version available. The infotainment center has both Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity. Built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless cell phone charging are also available with the Frontier. Also, a premium nine-speaker Fender sound system is optional.
Driver Assistance Features
Nissan is now offering its innovative Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite on the new Frontier. This package includes several upgraded assistance features: automatic high-beams, automated emergency braking, and a newly-designed rear automated emergency braking system. Blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control are also available for 2022.
In addition to the Nissan Safety Shield 360, a virtual key and dual-camera drive recorder are available as options. The virtual key allows the owner to access certain features of their vehicle, as well as lock and unlock the doors, and start the engine all from the convenience of their smartphone. The dual-camera drive recorder system features one front-facing camera and one cabin camera that captures what is going on inside the cab. The inside camera can be programmed to be motion-activated in the case of a break-in.
